The concert started off with an intro on the big screen with the list of the concerts that they did since 2007.
They came out and the crowd went wild (duh!). They introduced themselves. Hongki and Jonghun did it in English (except the “apa khabar” part) but the other 3 did it in full Malay. Seunghyun said “Apa khabar! Saya Seunghyun. Saya cinta padamu. Terima kasih!” (I’m Seunghyun. I love you. Thank you!) lol!. They did most of the MC in English without a translator on stage (which is really admirable to me!) Hongki did it pretty well at the beginning but towards the end he had a little trouble trying to explain. At one time, Jaejin helped him find the right sentence and he was like “Thank you!” lol. Jaejin, Minhwan and Seunghyun said a few things too (actually, more than I expected) and they were understandable. Minhwan did really well. I could understand him easily. I didn’t know his pronunciation was THAT good. Jonghun didn’t say much (as usual lmao). I don’t remember what he said but his pronunciation was good. During Flower Rock, Hongki told the people in the Rock Zone to sit (he wanted us to jump together) but they were probably confused, and Hongki didn’t know how to explain lol. Then he gave up and we could see Minhwan laughing behind him on the big screen. I heard he insisted the Singapore fans to sit. He’s learning from experience :p
Hongki was really energetic throughout the concert. He did miss a few high notes/lines in a number of songs like Flower Rock and Bad Woman (I think. I don’t really remember which ones) but generally he did really really well. Even during Like Bird, which was the ending song, his singing was perfect.
Hongki and Jaejin swapped parts during Even Your Tears. I was close to being disappointed when Hongki started the song, singing Jaejin’s part because I thought Jaejin wouldn’t be singing, but then he started singing Hongki’s part (which is a little harder) and I was so happy. And proud! They did 2 acoustic performances. Sunshine Girl and I Confess. The audience pretty much knew what to sing when Hongki directed his mic to us. I Confess was so beautiful and the fans went wild when Minhwan hit the high notes perfectly lol.
The songs they performed on Immortal Song 2 sound a lot more epic this time around. Hongki’s voice was so powerful and they really rocked the stage. The ballads (Bad Woman, Love Sick, Until You Return) were amazing! So happy I was able to listen to Hongki’s voice live performing those songs. It’s as amazing as I imagined it to be.
They also showed the video presentation that they did at the Korean concert. The one about Jonghun being a photographer, Jaejin the ~fashionista~, manly Minhwan, Seunghyun studying English and Hongki the twitter addict. lol. They subbed the video too so that was great.
I am overall happy with the setlist. Except maybe Life (sorry, Jonghun!!). It’s probably one of the few fti songs that I don’t listen to a lot (granted, it was just released a few months ago). However, the live made the song sound much better. I was hoping they’d perform their Japanese ballads like Distance or Raining. I wanted to see Jonghun plays the piano! But nope, they didn’t. But they performed I Want which is very fun live.
They should always be allowed to perform live because they are simply amazing. Even casual fans who came to the concert said they were entertaining. I was watching 8tv Nite Live the other day and the host who went to the concert kept saying how amazing they were on stage and how he admired Hongki’s vocals and energy. They did 23 songs with only 2 breaks. Once to show the video presentation (around 1-2 minutes. or maybe 3-4 minutes? idk it felt so short lol) and the next one before the encore. Even though I know how Hongki’s strength on stage is after watching their concert dvds, witnessing it live was surreal. One thing I need to say though, there’s no wonder Hongki said he has a hearing problem now because of concerts/live performances. The music they play live is freaking loud. Even my ears hurt after a while (not in a bad way of course).
I honestly didn’t know how popular they are in Malaysia since I’m out of the country 10 months in a year and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they have a considerably large fanbase (main fandom or not). Most of the people I went with have Big Bang as their main fandom. Some of them only know a few songs but they really enjoyed the concert and that makes me so proud as a fan.

The boys' antics are so amusing also hahahahahI wish they'd sung First Kiss because I would LOVE to see Jaejin singing it but the acoustic version of Sunshine Girl was absolutely riveting also :D

Ah First Kiss would have been so good. Sunshine Girl was never my favourite but it sounds so beautiful with acoustic.

At the concert I kept looking at Jaejin and Hongki tho. Hongki because his stage presence was just amazing and Jaejin looked so good that night with.

I never expected hongki to be THAT energetic. I know how he is at concerts from watching dvds but watching it live felt really amazing.

Hongki's energy is really amazing! I wonder if he stores up most of his energy just for concerts :p
